James Loudermilk

James Loudermilk is a member of the National Science and Technology Council’s Subcommittee on Biometrics and Identity Management, which he co-chairs. He serves on the FBI Biometric Steering Committee.

He entered on duty in July 1996 as the FBI’s first Senior Level employee, and was the executive responsible for design, development, installation, and transition to operations of the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS).

He also served as Chief Architect, Chief IT Strategist, Deputy Chief Technology Officer, and Assistant Director of the IT Operations Division. Loudermilk holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Mathematics and the Degree of Applied Scientist in Communications Engineering.
