Lowell B. Weiner, Ph.D.

Lowell Weiner joined Florida Blue in 2013 as vice president of corporate communications. In this role, Weiner is responsible for leading development and execution of employee communications, media relations and reputation management as well as advocating, developing and executing an integrated, multi-channel communications strategy to further corporate business objectives.

 

Throughout his career, Weiner has held leadership positions for several pharmaceutical and health care organizations. Prior to Florida Blue, Weiner served as vice president of corporate communication for Medco Health Solutions, based in Franklin Lakes, N.J. Prior to Medco, he served as vice president of corporate communications at Henry Schein., assistant vice president of public affairs at Wyeth and director of international public relations at Schering-Plough Corporation. Weiner began his public relations career at two New York agencies — Hill and Knowlton and Ketchum Public Relations.

 

During his career, Weiner has been active in community and professional organizations. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and on the Corporate Communication International Board of Advisors. He has previously served as a trustee of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and the Arts and Business Council. He is also a member of the Arthur W. Page Society and the Public Relations Society of America.

 

Prior to his public relations career, Weiner was an Assistant Professor of Music at Ohio University.

 

Weiner holds a Ph.D. as well as a “Careers in Business” certificate from New York University and Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music performance from Indiana University.
