Jolene Sonshine

Jolene is a seasoned communications professional who has held a variety of positions at American Express since 2007, covering public relations, social media, event management, and employee communications and engagement.

Currently she leads Amex’s employee communications program, linking the company’s 4,000 people across the country to the business and employee relations strategies. In this capacity she works closely with the company President, the heads of Human Resources and Corporate Communications and other senior leaders. Additionally, Jolene manages the company’s philanthropic and community involvement programs and is the lead in developing key sponsorship partnerships. She also leads the PR and social media initiatives for Amex’s line of B2B businesses, including Global Corporate Payments, Business Travel, Merchant Services and Small Business Services.

Jolene was born in South Africa and moved to Canada as a child. She now lives in Thornhill with her husband and one year old son. She is an avid reader and traveler, and plays an active role in the community as a volunteer with the Terry Fox Foundation.
