Brenna Isman

Brenna Isman is a Project Director at the National Academy of Public Administration. She currently directs the Office of Management and Budget’s Collaborative Forum online initiative to help identify state-level best practices and identify innovative approaches to improving payment accuracy, service delivery and administrative efficiency as well as reducing barriers to access of critical human services. She has also directed the Organizational Assessment project examining operational opportunities and challenges for the Amtrak Office of the Inspector General (OIG) providing research, analysis, and implementation guidance to Senior Leadership and provided subject matter expertise for the Modernization Program Review and the Assessment of Financial, Procurement and Asset Management Lines of Authority for the United States Coast Guard work at the Academy. Her contributions to the Coast Guard projects included development of communication and business strategy frameworks, analysis of ongoing transformation initiatives and review of organizational business models. Brenna’s consulting experience includes both public and private sector clients in the areas of communication strategy, change management and organizational development.

Prior to joining the Academy, Brenna was a Senior Consultant for the Ambit Group and a Consultant with Mercer Human Resource Consulting facilitating effective organizational change and process improvement. As the Assistant Director for Executive Education for the Kogod School of Business at American University, she developed curriculum for business certificate programs and managed program delivery. She holds a Masters of Business Administration from American University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from the University of Delaware.
