Using Effects – Based Analytics to Solve Complex Cyber Programs and Collaborate with Mission Stakeholders – NSA

11:55am – 12:30pm

Eratosthenes used shadows to estimate the circumference of the earth. Enrico Fermi used piano tuners to make scientific discoveries, and nine-year old Emily Rosa proved that qualitative indicators can be quantified. All three had the unique ability to use disparate data (evidence) to solve complex problems.

These lessons can be leveraged into analytics that focus on effects vs. indicators. You will gain insight into:

  • Approaches and techniques for measuring cyber analytic effectiveness
  • How to choose meaningful measures that are linked to a desired effect(s)
  • How to collaborate with mission stakeholders to collect data and share analytic experience
